Memorial Day Recipe Idea ~ No-Mess Sheet Pan Seafood Boil

Hello friends.

I can hardly believe that Memorial Day is this weekend.  Where has the time gone?

Many of us will be staying at home, enjoying our backyards and grilling for family and friends.  And if you are looking for an easy no-mess recipe to kick off summer this Memorial Day weekend, then I have just the right recipe for you.

Today I am sharing a "Sheet Pan" seafood boil.  Seafood boils are traditionally a one-pot meal with the corn, potatoes, sausage, onions, and seafood all boiled together to make a fun and tasty meal for a small crowd.  This seafood boil takes about 30 minutes to bake in the oven or covered grill.

The best part about this recipe, is that there are no big messy pots to clean up. All you have to do is season your seafood and toss everything together on the sheet pan and cover with foil.  This makes clean up a breeze!!!

And what better accompaniment for this delightful meal than a refreshing and crisp French Rose.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb Large Shrimp shells on
  • 1 Bag Mussels in shells (scrubbed)
  • 2 lbs Littleneck Clams in shells (scrubbed)
  • 1 lb crablegs
  • 1 lb Andouille Sausage (sliced on angle)
  • 12 oz mixed baby red Potatoes quartered
  • 3 ears fresh Corn (Cut into small pieces)
  • 6 small onions
  • 2 Tbs Olive Oil
  • 2 Tbs of Melted Butter
  • 3 Tbs Old Bay Seasoning
  • 3 Tbs Mrs. Dash
  • Pepper to taste
  • 2 sprigs of fresh Thyme
  • 2 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • 1 bottle of clam juice
  • 1 Lemon

Directions:

1.  Preheat oven to 450°F with 1 rack in top third of oven and 1 rack in bottom third of oven. Toss together potatoes, corn, onions, oil, and season with salt and pepper on an aluminum-foil-lined rimmed baking sheet. Spread in an even layer, and roast in preheated oven on bottom rack until potatoes are just tender, about 20 minutes.  Be sure that the entire sheet pan is covered with the aluminum foil.  You wan to create steam...

2.  Pour clam juice in a deep bowl.  Add melted butter, Old Bay Seasoning and Mrs. Dash.  Set aside.

3. Add seafood, Sausagethyme, rosemary to the baking sheet. Spread liquid seasoning all over the baking sheet and coat all of your seafood and vegetables with the mix.  Bake at 450°F on top rack just until clams and mussels begin to open, 8 to 10 minutes.

4.  Garnish with lemon wedges, and serve immediately.

So Break out the sheet pan, and have fun making this seafood boil.

Have a fantastic Memorial Day weekend.

Janet

  3. YUM! We always do ours in a pot as it is usually for a large crowd but boy would this be easier to do on the grill, especially for a small crowd. (Which is seems I never have a small crowd) LOL! We love to grill. This might just be perfect for me and my man! Thanks so much. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
